A Little TMI Otherwise Known As The Return Of My Period (I Think)

I think I am having my period. There are little drops of blood in my underwear. So must be, right? It has been so long. I think November of 2007 was my last sight of the bloods. Except, of course, for the massive soaking that comes after giving birth.

And then there was also the scary bleeding I had in the first trimester. When I saw the blood on the toilet paper this morning, my heart sank right back to that horrible morning I started bleeding. I remembered crawling back into bed after my 4:30 AM trip to the bathroom and whispering "No,no,no no, please God, no" and then rushing into the Ob/Gyn, my face stained with tears, my hands trembling, wanting to run into the ultrasound room and shove the wand up there myself and see that little heart beating and be relieved. It would take one more bloody scare for the doctor to tell me it looked liked the bleeding was from a low lying placenta and to take it easy but the baby was going to be fine. And she was. Better than fine. Perfect, she is.

The next time I would bleed would be the night I woke up to go to the bathroom three days before my due date and found blood on the toilet paper. As I went to lay down, I felt crampy and realized I felt like sitting up and as I sat there, I noticed that the crampy feeling was coming on rhythmically. I was having contractions and was at the beginning of labor.

My second thought this morning went to implantation bleeding before even considering it could be a period. I was all, "Oh hell no, I can't possibly be pregnant." Then I was all, "Hell no, you idiot, you are not pregnant. You are crampy and bloated and craving chocolate and salt. You are having your period." I think, anyway. It seems so much of my life has been punctuated with blood or the lack thereof over the past few years.

I LOVE TMI. But I think you know that already. Congrats on the return of Aunt Flo.

"The bloods." LOL. You're lucky your body held out this long. I was one of those unlucky suckers that still got a period even while bfing full time. Yeah, the implantation bleeding is scary shit. I ended up in the ER over that with Maggs too. That was fun b/c I got to get an enema - whoo hoo. I guess NV is one of the only states that makes enemas mandatory. I was PISSED (no pun intended).

I never had the implantation bleeding, thank God. Because I am neurotic and would have freaked out, totally. But you are right. After you have the baby, everyone is talking about periods, when you get your periods, if you have it, etc. etc. Your life kind of starts revolving around it!

Haha. I had an uber icky experience with 'the bloods' this weekend. Ugh. Don't even get me started. I'll save that for another time.

TMI is my favorite! Also, this is just a perfectly written post. No one ever told me my life would revolve around blood either!

Feelin' your pain sista:)

Oh man I know the blood takes over when you start getting to baby making time. It's all about FLO and then no FLO and then FLOagain. UGH! Eat some chocolate and enjoy!

Oh yes. TMI.

That's okay, I kind of like TMI. The blood. I've had enough blood for seven lifetimes. After two miscarriages all I could think of was BLOOD.

Thankfully after the arrival of two lovely devil children, my period is back extra full super duper strength. Ugh.

How long until menopause?

OMG I forgot about the BLOOD BATH after Chubs arrived. I knew there would be blood, and I didn't have any complications, so this was normal-amount-of-after-birth-bleeding and my eyes were bugging out of my head. My midwife shoved a diaper in my disposable undies (how pretty was I right then?) and I was like, is that really necessary? Then I was all - WE NEED MORE DIAPERS FOR MOMMY!
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I hate blood.

For some reason I was totally unprepared for all the blood following the birth of my kids. My periods have been wonky ever since my 2nd kidlet popped out. Damn him.
