Potty Time

For the last few weeks Bug has been doing this squat move after taking her evening bath.  Sometimes, she'll squat and pee on the floor.  So today I bought her a potty.  I set it up in the bathroom and told her that it was for pee-pee.  She seemed VERY excited about it and kept climbing on and off of it exclaiming, "PEE PEE".  After her bath she ran over to it, sat down, and peed.  Clearly proud of herself we clapped together, "YAY, PEE PEE".  It was so cute.  I don't think we are exactly at potty training yet because she is only two days shy of 15 months old but I guess she is moving in that direction and by the looks of it will be potty trained long before she is weaned.

Go Bug!

I wish I could offer some sage advice on potty training, but I am decidedly inept at this aspect of parenting (recently I decided that maybe it's not them, it's ME). Bear - well I think I've told you about some of the issues I had with him, so I won't go into it here. Maggie took to it pretty well, but lately insists she wants to stay a baby forever (and potty issues naturally follow phases like this. So fun). Maybe I just feel like we've been in the process of potty training FOREVER due to the fact that my kids are so close in age. I'll bet Nola takes to it pretty easily if she's already showing interest. YAY Bug!

Well, if you take into account what a fantastic job I am doing at establishing healthy sleep habits and night weaning, I should have her potty trained by the time she is 12, weaned by some point in her college years, and with all hope sleeping in her own bed by the time she gets married.

That's my kind of parenting! High fives!

Potty training is fun!

Except when they poop on your living room rug.

She's doing better than my 2 ever did. They were 3 1/2 years old before they were fully potty trained. But I hear boys are worse than girls.

Well, She has pretty much decided against the potty in preference for the floor. That's my girl.

I can tell you from my experience that BOYS ARE WORSE THAN GIRLS.

And as far as peeing on the floor -remember that story about how when I was a kid I ripped all the pages out of my books and climbed up the book shelves and pissed down them? At least she hasn't done THAT yet.
